The following "gained" notation is from week 4 to week 5. The babies out grew the small digital scales. We are now using a baby digital scales. It weighs a little different so next week will be easier at calculating gains. We decided to do the 5 week pictures outside . . .we have enjoyed 3 days in a row going in the yard. Mr. Green - 4.6 lb. (gained 1.1 lb.) Mr. Purple - 4.2 lb. (gained .95 lb.) Mr. Red - 4.65 lb.(gained 1.1 lb.) Mr. Blue - 4.45 lb. (gained 1 lb.) Miss Pink - 4 lb. (gained .94 lb.) Miss Lime - 4.4 lb. (gained .8 lb.) February 1, 2012 - After playing in the yard, the babies take a nap. We also clippered behinds today. The teeter was added and the puppies love to play on it. Gram YD (15 years) says hi to the babies. At just 5 weeks, the babies have experienced the following footing: carpet, rubber mats, atro-turf, wood plank w/slats, grate, sand and paint, hard wood floor, grass, dirt, river rocks, cement, 1 step. February 2, 2012 - Shortly after midnight. . .the big dogs got me up so I thought I better check on the babies. It is always easier to clean up after them before they step in it. Anyway, I had just used the last kleenex and was using the box to put the dirty ones into. Mr. Purple decided to get a closer sniff at what was in the kleenex box and got it caught on his head. I laughed so loud! I can't believe I didn't wake up Roy. February 2, 2012 - A big snow storm is in the forecast for Colorado. After I got home from Autumn's agility class, we took the babies outside for a romp and to burn off some steam. It was 50 degrees outside - nippy but not bad. Roy shows em the tire and next thing we know, they are doing it by themselves. I turn around and there is Miss Lime going over the teeter by herself! I didn't want to frighten her or pull her off of the obstacle but also didn't want her to fall. I moved the doggie shovel. . .and she continued up, finding the pivot point and brought it down on her own. I held it down so that she would exit straight off the teeter. What a girl! Not to be outdone, Mr. Red gives it a try. This time I am ready for him. It is interesting to note that all of the babies did the teeter on their own during our play time! We woke up to 12 inches (as you can see from the teeter in the left pic) and it is still coming. . . .BRING IT ON . . . vehicles are filled with gas, snow blower is ready, refrig is stocked. Roy has the stove going. The house is nice and warm for the babies and the kids. The babies enjoyed their breakfast plus a snack from Mama Liebe. (Not sure why she still enjoys going in there. Liebe is pretty much dried up. . .guess that is why she is a SUPER MOM.) Then it was time for a good play . . . they don't care what is going on outside. Apologize the video is dark. . .it looked better when I was shooting it. Will try more later. We'll have to try setting up more lights. February 4, 2012 - Saturday morning and it is still snowing. . .lightly. . .but still coming down. I tried to take a similiar picture out the back window as yesterday so you can see how much we have. Sharma and Dale came by to see the babies. The sun was out, and it wasn't terribly cold, so we took em into the puppy park to see what they thought of the snow. They loved it!!! February 5, 2012 - Nancy and Bev, from Cheyenne WY, came to see the babies this afternoon. Roy had just finished making a "snow maze" in the back yard. It was so much fun watching em discover all the paths. February 6, 2012 - Gayle and Larry came by today to see the babies. We spent lots of time playing inside since it is pretty cold outside. The babies did get a run in the snow maze before they left - once around and back inside. More snow in the forecast tonight. . .burr. The babies slept from 10 p.m. on Monday until 6 a.m. on Tuesday!!! Good puppies!!! February 7, 2012 - It snowed all morning dropping another 4 inches on top of what we already had. The babies didn't care. . .they played and napped and played and napped. What are the babies looking at? Oh look, Liebe is in the tunnel. . .and here she comes Napping with Mama Liebe who hogs most of the bed! |
