01/18/98 - 2:30 P.M. Did not see this seizure. Korie came downstairs a bit wobbly. There was urine on the guest room bed. Gave PB, Clorazepate and Zinc. Recovery was fast.
02/08/98 - 6:10 P.M. Seizure lasted about 1 minute and she urinated. She had just laid down on the couch in the family room before it began. Evening medications were due so administered them. Ate dinner fine.
02/26/98 - 9:20 P.M. 1 minute seizure. Korie was sleeping on the bed and got off to " tell " us. Usual involuntary leg movement, urinated, foamed at mouth. Laid there for a minute after and then up and okay. Gave Bachvs Rescue Remedy (RR).
02/27/98 - 2:09 A.M. 1 minute seizure. Followed with PB, Clorazepate and RR.
02/27/98 - 9:30 P.M. 1 minute seizure on couch. She was getting off couch and I thought she wanted to be scratched. It is almost like she knows they are going to happen and she is coming to us for reassurance.
03/02/98 Took Korie to Dr. Scott to check PB level plus check level of KBr in blood and do a complete blood panel and organ functions. Also had Thyroid test done through Michigan State University.

Overall blood work and organ function is good. PB is therapeutic at 31. KBr is therapeutic at 145. Total thyroid and T3 is in normal range, T4 is slightly low because of her anti-convulsant drug therapy.

03/25/98 - 3:30 A.M. 1 minute seizure and she urinated. Hardly any pacing. Followed with PB, Clorazepate and Zinc.
04/08/98 - 3:58 A.M. Korie was sleeping next to Roy and fell off the bed. Seizure lasted about 1 minute and she urinated. Followed with PB, Clorazepate and Zinc. She was not setting down so gave RR.
04/08/98 - 4:31 A.M. Korie was pacing and went into another seizure. I took her into the guest room so Roy could get some sleep. She finally settled down but it was as if she was fighting the urge to go to sleep. If her head would go down she would wake up immediately.
04/08/98 Took Korie to Dr. Scott's to have yearly heartworm test done.
04/09/98 - 2:11 A.M. Korie has been pretty " drunk " all day and evening. Had seizure on bed and urinated. Followed with PB, Clorazepate and Zinc.

04/25/98 - 1:30 A.M. 2 minute seizure and urinated. Really out of it and pacing constantly. Followed with PB, Clorazepate and Zinc.
04/28/98 Increased KBr to 3.5 cc from 3.0 cc.
05/01/98 Added Soloxine - .3 mg. in A.M. and P.M. trying to break this biweekly pattern. We noticed a difference in her the next day. Korie's eyes were brighter and she had more energy.
05/07/98 - 05/10/98 Gave extra 45 mg. of PB before bed time.
05/15/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill.
05/17/98 New KBr mixture started.
06/02/98 - 4:14 A.M. I woke up to see Korie standing up with head titled to ceiling. Laid her down and she had a 45 second seizure. Did not urinate or foam. She then laid there for 3 to 4 minutes. Woke her back up to go outside and potty. Back inside and immediately back to bed. Followed seizure with PB, Clorazepate and Zinc.
06/15/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill.
06/19/98 Had left rear foot lanced. Nothing found. Put on 200 mg. Cefa Tabs for 10 days.
07/06/98 - 2:17 A.M. Korie woke up as though she knew that she was going to have a seizure. She jumped off of the bed and began to seizure on the floor. She did urinate and released her anals a little. Afterwards, she just laid on the floor and seemed to gather her senses before going outside to potty. She immediately came back inside and went back to sleep. There was no pacing or drinking of large amounts of water. She only had this one seizure. We did not give her any medications after this one. The next day she was fine.
07/08/98 Took Korie to Dr. Scott to check PB level plus check level of KBr in blood. Received yearly vaccinations and rabies shot.
Blood work results are back on 07/13/98. The KBr (176) and PB (32) are in the therapeutic range. The T4 (thyroid) sample was broke in the mail.
We lowered Korie's KBr back to 3.0 cc from 3.5 cc - she was becoming quite "wobbly".
07/15/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill.
07/25/98 - 1:13 A.M. Roy awoke when he felt Korie stiffen up and felt a contraction go down her back. He woke me up and we petted and comforted her during the course of the seizure which lasted not more than 2 minutes; urinated. As in the past 6 months, she just lay in bed for about a minute after the seizure. She got up and walked around and went outside. She was a little disoriented and laid back down after about 5 minutes or so. We did not give her any medication after this seizure. The next day she was very playful.
07/28/98 - 12:28 A.M. Roy awoke when he felt Korie start to seizure. He woke me up and we petted and comforted her during the course of the seizure which lasted about 1 minute; urinated; released anals. We think that she went back to sleep after this seizure. She did get up and walk around outside about 10 minutes later. She laid back down after coming inside. We did not give her any medication after this seizure. The following morning we discovered that she had not received her PB from the evening meal. It had fallen out of her meatball sandwich into the can of dog food.
08/07/98 Administered two topical applications of Breakthru to help control fleas while we are back east.
08/10/98 Today was a very exciting day for all of us. We arrived in Marion Indiana to have Gold Bead Implants placed in Korie by Dr. Terry Durkes. We were able to watch the entire procedure which was absolutely amazing. Korie has close to 300 gold beads in her head and back.
08/20/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill.
08/22/98 Today was the last dose of Clorazepate. We have been cutting her back to one per day (at night) for the last several weeks. The price of this drug has skyrocketed because there is only one manufacturer making it.
09/01/98 Picked up a supply of Diazepam tablets (5 mg.). We wanted to have some type of valium for emergency situations since Korie is no longer on the Clorazepate.
09/05/98 Administered two topical applications of Breakthru to help control fleas while we are in California.
09/12/98 - 6:40 A.M. It was just about time to get up and Korie jumped off the bed and went into a 30 second seizure with some foaming and leg movement. She did urinate, layed there for about 5 minutes then paced for about 10 minutes. She was fine after that. (Note: This happened 1 week into a 1 month road trip.)
09/15/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill.
10/07/98 - 3:27 A.M. Last night we just returned home from a 1 month road trip. Korie had a 30 second seizure with a little foaming and leg movement. She did urinate and was still afterwards for close to 10 minutes. The pacing lasted close to 20 minutes this time but she settled down and went back to sleep after going outside to potty.
10/14/98 Had blood drawn for complete thyroid panel testing by Dr. Dodds in California. Korie's levels are all within the acceptable range but they should be within the upper 1/3 to 1/4. We have raised her Soloxine to .450 twice a day from .3 twice a day. We will recheck in 6 to 8 weeks.
10/15/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill.
10/21/98 Started Korie on Flint River Ranch dog food.
10/22/98 - 4:18 P.M. Korie was resting on the couch and had a 30 second seizure. There was leg movement and she urinated. Recovery was immediate.
10/28/98 Doxycycline Hyclate tablets (100 mg.) to be given twice a day for 3 weeks.
11/15/98 Gave Heartgard heartworm pill - last one of the year.
11/23/98 - 1:40 A.M. Korie woke up and stood up as if she knew she was going to have a seizure. She fell to the bed and had a seizure which lasted approximately 45 seconds. She urinated, foamed a little and paddled. After going outside, she settled back down to sleep within about 10 minutes.
12/06/98 - 5:40 A.M. This was a short 30 second seizure where Korie urinated and paddled. We went ahead and gave her the 7:00 A.M. dosage of PB (90 mg.) and thought we were giving her 5 mg. of Diazepam when actually it was 60 mg. of PB. So, she had 150 mg. of PB. She went back to sleep.
12/06/98 - 6:00 A.M. Another seizure lasting 1 minute, just 20 minutes from the prior one. Korie released her anals, foamed and paddled. She settled down after 10 minutes for some more shut eye before the alarm went off.
12/06/98 - 10:30 P.M. We were getting ready for bed - Korie was already sleeping when she had a seizure which lasted about a minute. She did her usual paddling and urination. It took her about 30 minutes to settle down after this one. We followed this seizure with an extra dose of PB (90 mg.) and Diazepam (5 mg.).
12/07/98 - 1:09 A.M. This seizure lasted closer to 2 minutes and was much more intense than the previous ones. She urinated, released her anals and paced for about 30 minutes after it was over. We followed this seizure with an extra dose of PB (90mg.) plus Diazepam (5 mg.).
12/07/98 - 3:04 A.M. Another 1 minute seizure. Very intense with paddling, urination, foaming. We did not give extra drugs because she is quite "drugged up" from the prior extra dosages. She paced close to an hour before finally settling down. Korie had her usual morning PB (90 mg.) at 7:00 A.M.
12/07/98 - 3:50 P.M. Korie had a 30 second seizure where she urinated. I put a call into Dr. Scott. . . we will follow every seizure with PB and/or Diazepam depending on frequency and severity of seizure.
12/07/98 - 5:05 P.M. 1 minute seizure with paddling, urination and foaming from the mouth. Followed with PB (90 mg.) and Diazepam (5 mg.).
12/07/98 - 5:30 P.M. 2 minute violent seizure. This was reminiscent of the seizures on her video tape. Korie is really out of it. She layed there for quite some time - minutes - and finally came to when we called her name. Received evening medication when she came to. At 9:00 P.M. we gave an extra dose of PB (90 mg.). Korie and Kathi slept in the guest room. Korie experienced many focal seizures through the night where she would just stare coming to only when Kathi called her name.
12/08/98 Administered Diazepam (5 mg.) at 2:30 A.M.. Morning drugs (PB - 90 mg.) at 7:00 A.M. Diazepam (5 mg.) at 12:45 P.M.
12/08/98 - 5:30 P.M. This was a 3 minute seizure in the family room. The first part was the usual with paddling but the second part (which lasted about 1 minute) just her back and legs twitched. She did not urinate or release her anals. She was very shy and stand-offish after she finally stood up. Gave Diazepam (5 mg.) when she came to. Usual drugs given at 7:30 P.M. with dinner (PB and KBr).
12/08/98 - 10:00 P.M. Another 3 minute doozie of a seizure. No urination. Followed this with PB (90 mg.), Diazepam (5 mg.) and rescue remedy. Korie slept through the night. She spent the next 2 days recovering from all the drugs but no more seizure activity!
